PAUL & ARLENE BUKLAREWICZ
Is an internationally published travel stock photographer and owner of the Eleventh Pearl Photo Gallery in Volcano, Hawai`i, has been building stock in travel and nature photography since 1973. From Bayonne, New Jersey, he has been illustrating his freelance-written articles and those of other writers with his photos since 1987, and has lived with his wife, travel companion and nature photographer, Arlene, in such diverse places as New York, Alabama, Utah, the Republic of Turkiye, Japan, Oahu and the Big Island of Hawai`i.
For more than 40 years, Hawai`i has been home base for Paul and Arlene, who have been striking out from this central hub of the Pacific Ocean to experience diverse cultures and photograph locations around the Pacific Rim including western Canada and the U.S., Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, New Zealand, Fiji Islands, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, the People’s Republic of China, Nepal, and India. Living, working and traveling throughout the Japanese archipelago for two years has resulted in a comprehensive file of images from Hokkaido in the north to the southernmost Yaeyama Islands of Okinawa.
When not traveling abroad, the Hawaiian Islands, including Midway Atoll, have been a rich source of cultural as well as volcanic, forest and seascape images. Having studied the form and function of art and architecture of the classical world of Italy, Greece, and Turkiye, a favorite subject of Paul’s self-taught photography has been the use of natural materials in architecture and design. For over three decades at home in Volcano Village on Hawaii Island, his lenses have been focusing upon the universal architecture of the lava flows of Kilauea Volcano together with the Hawaiian night skies filled with heavenly bodies in constellations, planetary conjunctions, and lunar and solar eclipses to form images he calls “Astro-FLOW-tography.”
Paul’s worldwide geographic/travel stock photography at the Eleventh Pearl Photo Gallery in Volcano established in 1997, offers a broad range of photographic image genres used to illustrate print and digital publications such as advertising media, newsprint and magazine articles, album covers, books and calendars.
In addition to the Pacific Rim/Asian locations, the Eleventh Pearl Photo-Gallery travel catalogue includes select images from European cities and countries in Austria, England, France, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and Switzerland."
